Nov 13, 2012: Native Landscape Plants That Thrive! A reflection on selections of Texas Native plants that have performed well at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort and Spa. Jon Pixler, Chief horticulturist Lost Pines Hyatt resort and spa. Born in Houston,

Dec 8, 2012 Hyatt Garden Tour. There was a garden tour on Dec 8, 2012 at 9:00 am at the Lost Pines Hyatt (lostpines.hyatt.com) near Bastrop TX. The tour included Texas native plants that have performed well for hardiness and drought tolerance at this Hyatt. The tour will also provided information on planting and watering techniques.
The tour was by the Hyatt’s horticulturist Jon Pixler.
Dec 11, 2012 Pot luck holiday supper
January 8, 2013: “Xeriscaping Project: Turning a dead zone into a living landscape” by Howard Nemerov. Collecting local rock from a private ranch, and using primarily Texas native plant materials, Howard Nemerov and Grace Garne designed and installed a 60+ foot desert landscape in the hottest corner of their yard. Where only weeds persisted, now a miniature desertscape provides pleasure to all passing by. Biography: Howard Nemerov is a medical researcher who majored in Horticulture. His love of gardening has re-bloomed through creating his own organic garden. Howard is Treasurer of the Lost Pines Garden Club in Bastrop, Texas.
February 12, 2013: "Old roses: The Ultimate Garden Plant." by Mike Shoup of Antique Rose Emporium. This program was on selection, planting and care of old, antique roses for home gardeners.
