Plant and Book Sale, Silent Auction, and Quilt Raffle was on Mach 24-25 2017.  This should again be a great event.

On April 1-2 club held our 2016 Plant Sale, Silent Auction, and Quilt Raffle to support the Bastrop Library summer children's activity and reading program. This was held in conjunction with the "Friends of the Library" annual book sale.   We offered hard-to-find, Bastrop hardy perennials, shrubs, and succulents, along with vegetable starts. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Library’s summer reading program for kids. We raised $6,661 (even better than the 5,200 in 2015 event) for the Library at the April 1-2 events.

We and the Bastrop Library are appreciative to the donors for the 2016 Silent Auction which were Hyatt Regency Lost Pine Resort & Spa, Hyatt Wolfdancer Golf  Club, Lost Pines Toyota, John Pixler,(Hyatt Horticulturist), Bastrop Copier, HEB, Bluebonnet Electric, Maxine's Restaruant, Aqua Water, First National Bank, Bassano's Italian Restaurant, Bastrop High School Navy JROTC Unit teams, Home Depot, Bealls, Double Dave's Pizzaworks, Blue Donkey Gallery, Sames Ford Dealership, Covert Chevrolet, Best Lil' Hair House in TX, Spoiled Sisters, Beverly Parsneau, Artist, Texas Bluebird Society, Academy Sports & Outdoors, Kathleen Caso, and Delores Hesterlan.

Our club has previously supported the Bastrop Family Crisis Center.  This Center support families in the Bastrop County area.  Information is at http://www.family-crisis-center.org/.  Our club installed some Live Oak trees at the “Bit’s & Pieces” Thrift store which is associated with the Center.  These trees seem to be doing well and are a good feature of this store.  Another project was purchasing a riding lawn mower for the Center.  This saves the Center money by facilitating lawn maintenance by Center staff or volunteers. The Club had a plant sale booth at the Bastrop Yesterfest in Apr 2012.  All proceeds from plant sales and a quilt raffle were dedicated to the Center.   The picture shows the Club booth and representatives of the Club and the Center at Yesterfest.
